Mane & Salah keep Liverpool’s title hopes alive

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has unfinished business with Chelsea

Chelsea's winning streak came to an end at Anfield on Sunday as Liverpool returned to the summit of the Premier League with a 2-0 win.

After a goalless first half, Sadio Mane headed Liverpool FC into the lead in the 51st minute when he connected with Jordan Henderson's dinked cross.

Chelsea fans could only watch, stunned, in silence, and probably trying hard not to think about the fact that Salah used to be on Chelsea until they deemed him surplus to requirements.

And Salah believes if the Reds managed to win their remaining four games against Cardiff City, Huddersfield, Newcastle, and Wolves, they will be crowned champions.

Salah has 19 league goals, 22 in total, but had been on a barren run by his standards of one goal in 10 games before sealing victory against his former club.

Tesla Model 3 lease program opens door to future ride-hailing network
Dubbed 'Standard Range', the entry-level Model 3 offered 220mi (354km ) of range, and a 0-60mph (0-97km/h) time of 5.6 seconds. Named the Standard Range , the vehicle finally went on sale to give fans the most-affordable option possible.

The Reds now have four games to go in the league and are leading Manchester City by two points - though Pep Guardiola's men have a game in hand. After five minutes, Salah should have perhaps done better with a bouncing volley from Mane's cross which forced a save from Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The fixture had drawn comparisons with the last time Liverpool were in a title race in 2014, only to be derailed by Chelsea and Jose Mourinho in a match best remembered for Steven Gerrard's fateful slip, but this was not even a pale imitation of that.

"We controlled the ball really well but one moment in the game and they are back in it", Sterling said."But we responded again and got the third goal. We know it will be hard to gain points in Liverpool but we have to try in every way", Sarri added. We got two goals but knew we couldn't switch off. "We knew we had to be on it from the first minute". Having played a game more than Manchester City entering the weekend, there is more pressure on the Reds.

Liverpool's lead was doubled shortly after in sensational style.

Palace had a couple of half-chances to threaten an equaliser but Jesus dashed any hopes of a comeback with the third, although replays suggested he was marginally offside. The Scotsman missed the midweek win over FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League due to suspension, but is back into the team now.
