Trump Organization may face charges from New York DA's office

Trump was aware of hacked emails before their release, and Michael Cohen knew it: lawyer

US President Donald Trump and his allies tried to head off mounting talk of his impeachment Thursday, warning it would sink the world's largest economy and spark a public "revolt".

The president's long-time attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen, entered a plea in federal court in NY, admitting he paid hush money during the final days of the 2016 presidential campaign to two women who had affairs with Trump and that he did so at the candidate's direction. Cohen said Trump directed him to arrange the payment of hush money to two women who claimed they had affairs with Trump, acknowledging the payments were made to influence the election. In court filings, prosecutors say two unnamed Trump Organization employees - "executive 1" and "executive 2" - helped set up the reimbursement.

"You would see - you would see numbers that you wouldn't believe in reverse", he said.

In an interview with Bloomberg TV on Wednesday, Davis again addressed the Prague allegation, stating, "By the way, the number of times that falsehood has been repeated - I'm not accusing you - is the classic example that if you mention something a million times and you get Google hits and they're all false, it's zero-zero".

Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts, including two counts of campaign finance violations, in federal court in Manhattan on Tuesday. Those attorneys have also stated that special counsel Robert Mueller, investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, plans to stick to those guidelines.

Clinton's obsequious fixer has been all over the media in recent days hinting that Trump's former attorney has bombshell information about the Russian Federation investigation that Mueller would be "interested in".

In the case of Cohen, the very reason that he's in trouble is that the money paid to silence the women Trump had affairs with, while very much a campaign expense, was deliberately kept separate from campaign funds in order to keep the whole thing secret-in other words, there was criminal intent to hide a campaign donation for the objective of influencing the election. Specifically, we allege that Trump violated federal law by receiving illegal contributions from Cohen and AMI in the form of payments made to McDougal and Daniels, and by failing to report these contributions to the FEC.

TRUMP: What he did - and they weren't taken out of campaign finance.

Cohen had pleaded guilty on eight charges, which included arrangements for payments to influence the elections, as per Trump's order. Asked where Cohen got the money to make the payments, Trump said he didn't know.

"Anybody who says this is not disturbing is not being honest", the former House Republican campaign chairman said. Joe Donnelly's silence on the issue "affirms he is open to impeaching President Trump".

"What kind of a man is this?"

"Up all night!" - that's the screaming headline across USA news networks other than United States president Donald Trump's favourite Fox News channel. We made note of their reporting here.

Any evidence of alleged crimes related to the charity will be referred to state Attorney-General Barbara Underwood.

"It's called flipping and it nearly ought to be illegal", Trump said.

Some political pundits suggest Cohen's admission to campaign finance violations and implicating the president could be grounds for impeachment, but others are expressing skepticism.

The US president lauded the 69-year-old Manafort for leaving his fate to a jury rather than striking a plea deal - a move that has sparked speculation Manafort hopes for a pardon.

"If he were asked, 'Were you aware of Mr. Trump's level of awareness before the hacking illegally done by a foreign government?" The U.S. GDP has risen an average of 2.9% during Trump's time in office, in line with the average economic growth since World War II.
