Russian Federation: more election meddling evidence found, says Senate panel

Backing Intelligence Agencies, U.S. Senate Panel Says Russia Interfered in 2016 Election to Help Trump Win

A Senate Intelligence Committee report released on Tuesday supports three USA intelligence agencies' conclusion that Russian Federation tried to help Donald Trump win the 2016 us presidential election.

The Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday released a bipartisan report about the U.S. intelligence community's January 2017 assessment of Russia's election meddling.

It said the USA intelligence community's assessment that Russian Federation influenced our election to help Donald Trump win is "sound".

The House committee wrote that it "identified significant intelligence tradecraft failings that undermine confidence in the ICA (Intelligence Community Assessment) judgments regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin's strategic objectives for disrupting the US election".

The Senate report said that the intelligence community's assessment of Russia's intentions were sound, which is at odds with the House Intelligence Committee Republicans' report that found "significant intelligence tradecraft failings" in the assessment of Putin's objectives.

In fact, over the course of their investigation, the committee has apparently found "a far more extensive Russian effort to manipulate social media outlets to sow discord and to interfere in the 2016 election and American society".

"The committee finds that the overall judgments issued in the ICA were well-supported and the tradecraft was strong", a statement released with the summary said. "So many questions, so much corruption!"

He is supported by a group of rightwing Republican congressmen led by Devin Nunes of California, the chairman of the House intelligence committee.

The disagreement among agencies "was reasonable, transparent, and openly debated among the agencies and analysts, with analysts, managers and agency heads on both sides of the confidence level articulately justifying their positions", the Senate intelligence committee's findings said. In a statement earlier this year, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., said it was "clear based on the evidence" that Putin wanted Clinton to lose in November.

They are sure to be in Samara too, for the quarter-final that now follows; yet another tournament encounter with Sweden . As the two teams get ready to battle each other for a spot in the Quarter-Final, we run the rule over the two squads.

The assertion followed the White House National Security Adviser John Bolton's reassurance on Sunday that Trump would address election meddling during his summit in two weeks with Putin.

The House Intelligence Committee has been split along partisan lines, releasing Republican and Democratic versions of various reports.

The Senate committee's bipartisan conclusion comes as Trump is scheduled to meet with Putin on July 16 in Helsinki, Finland.

Earlier this year, Republicans on the House intelligence committee concluded that it had found no evidence of collusion or coordination between Trump's presidential campaign and Russian Federation in the course of the interference. Despite Trump's claims that the investigations of Russian interference is a "witch hunt", the committee report concluded that the earlier conclusion on Russian meddling by USA spy agencies was "a sound intelligence product", CNN reported.

The Trump campaign is the focus of an investigation into possible collusion and obstruction of justice.

Trump and his allies have also floated the theory - without evidence - that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and intelligence community relied extensively on an unverified dossier a former British spy Christopher Steele compiled to inform their conclusions and embark on a politically motivated "witch hunt".

But the Senate report said the intelligence community's assessment of Russian interference didn't rely on the dossier because it contained unverified information.

Separate from congressional inquiries, U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating whether any Republican Trump's election campaign members coordinated with Moscow officials.

"All individuals the committee interviewed verified that the dossier did not in any way inform the analysis", the Senate panel declared.
