Supreme Court rules for Texas redistricting plans

The apex court ordered Washington State's Supreme Court to revisit the case.

The country's top judges ruled 7-2 in his favour. It returned the case to Washington's Supreme Court, giving florist Barronelle Stutzman an opportunity to restate her case.

There was no comment from the court in rejecting an appeal from Brendan Dassey, who was 16 years old when he confessed to Wisconsin authorities that he had joined his uncle in raping and murdering photographer Teresa Halbach before burning her body in a bonfire.

In North Carolina, the GOP-controlled state Legislature drew electoral maps in an attempt to protect Republican power in a battleground state that has a Democrat governor and attorney general.

"It remanded it to the Washington courts and said, 'You need to take another look at Barronelle's case in light of what the court said in the Masterpiece Cakeshop decision", Waggoner said.

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that retailers can not steer customers away from using American Express credit cards to avoid higher merchant fees. The U.S. Supreme Court's Masterpiece Cakeshop ruling condemned those sorts of one-sided, discriminatory applications of the law against people of faith. In an unprecedented show of religious hostility, the state's chief law enforcer, Bob Ferguson personally disparaged her by comparing her biblical beliefs on marriage to racial discrimination.

The U.S. Supreme Court won't immediately take up arguments about whether North Carolina Republican lawmakers went too far in 2016 when they redrew the state's 13 congressional election districts to intentionally give their party a 10 to 3 advantage.

"We view this decision as encouraging news that justice will prevail and the Washington State Supreme Court will again uphold the state's non-discrimination laws ensuring LGBTQ people can not be turned away from a business open to the public".

Alzheimer's may be triggered by herpes virus
And what they found was that the herpes virus genes were interacting with genes known to increase a person's risk for Alzheimer's. Researchers said previous studies suggest a viral contribution but don't explain how the connection works.

The couple and the state both sued, and they won in the state courts. "The court today seems to minimize the chances that these remedies are going to be effective in future cases", he said.

Arlene's Flowers, again brings the Court the question of whether state laws against discrimination require a business owner to provide services for events that may conflict with their religious beliefs, like same-sex weddings.

In this session of the Supreme Court, now drawing to a close, the justices have chose to avoid a major decision on voting rights rather than send a clear message going into the 2018 midterm elections.

The US Supreme Court in Washington, DC. The cases are similar, but this time it involves floral arrangements. The State of Washington followed with its own lawsuit against the business charging it with violating the Washington Consumer Protection Act.

A case pitting anti-discrimination laws against claims of conscience in the context of same-sex marriage may yet reach the Supreme Court.

Democratic Washington Gov. Jay Inslee echoed a similar sentiment in a press release of his own.

Stutzman, a member of the Southern Baptist denomination, has said she believes marriage should be exclusively between a man and a woman.
